AIFIL Italian Association of Manufacturers of Luminous Signs, celebrates its 55 years of activity with another important event: it will host the next Friday, September 20th 2024, in the beautiful setting of Treviso, the ESF (European Sign Federation) General Assembly of which it is a full member.
President Diego Lai: ‘We are honoured to receive the European delegations: a great opportunity for meeting experts and where important issues for our activities will be discussed; a window on Europe that will offer us a 360° view of other nations’ issues and perspectives”.
ESF president Luc Steegmans welcomed all participants at Treviso and thanked AIFIL for their invitation and organising the meeting. Besides intense discussions and exchange of informations from all national associations all participants enjoyed a presentation of Greeneon, a company from the Venice area that specializes in mercury-free neon.
Afterwards Luc Steegmans informed “it is the last time the topic of mercury will be brought to the table.” It was never the intention to cry wolf but to inform about the existance of the new european mercury regulation which is a binding law for all european countries. No longer we talk about RoHS which is about electric things only, EMR is for any kind of products!
The next ESF Spring General Assembly will be held in Madrid which was welcomed by the members. The date of March 7th 2025 was put forward and will send out a ‘save the date’ shortly.
