lwd President Hans Joachim Kremser was proud to welcome more than 100 signmakers in the beautiful city of Erfurt. The German sign industry looks back on a successful 2016 and also looks forward to another exciting 2017. Actual numbers given by the industry are looking very confident. 

After the official part, there were interesting speakers with topics like fire protection of signs in shopping malls, airports etc. Würth presented the technology and knowledge of installing using a quiz, that shows a lot about common misunderstandings, how to install on different surfaces. That leads into a decision to go for German wide training sessions as a “certified Sign installer”. Thomas Berens of the ESF projectgroup CoP presented the final draft of the Code of Practice for signs in Europe. There was also a product show beside the conference with very interesting exhibitors.

In 2018 the lwd celebrates its 5th anniversary, in Berlin of course…
